| 内容記述 | This article presents basic research for creating sport environments where athletes are able to view their own identities positively. With special notice to disabled persons and sexual minorities, the article critically examines, from the perspectives of diversity and hospitality, the ideal of modern sports, which now create inhospitable environments for those who are placed in the position of physical minorities. Modern competitive sports are categorized according to sex and the presence or absence of a disability. However, some athletes seek to overcome these boundaries. They are excluded from competition in the name of “fairness” or are partially accepted on the condition of “not winning.” Breaking through the status quo and enabling all athletes to view their identities positively requires sportspeople to understand and respect the diversity of bodily features and reconsider the concept of hospitality to go beyond acceptance and tolerance. |
