With special notice to disabled persons and sexual minorities, the article critically examines, from the perspectives of diversity and hospitality, the ideal of modern sports, which now create inhospitable environments for those who are placed in the position of physical minorities.\n　Modern competitive sports are categorized according to sex and the presence or absence of a disability. However, some athletes seek to overcome these boundaries.
