| 内容記述 | The roof tile is an important part of the original fabric of a wooden building in Japan. In the case of a monumental or historic building, therefore, the old roof tiles, especially the original ones, should be preserved as part of the original structure. For this purpose, treatment methods for deteriorated old roof tiles to permit their reuse were experimentally investigated. The flat tiles were consolidated and made waterproofing by impregnation with a solution of hydrophobic silicone resin. Decorative concave tiles were restored by using epoxy resin and fillers. And, satisfactory results were obtained. These methods were applied to the old roof tiles of an actual important historic wooden building, for the first time, in 1980. Here, the results of the experimental studies and the actual application techniques are explained, and the condition of the treated and reused old roof tiles after 30 years are discussed. | |||||||
