A unit of learning for high jump that introduced a selective learning environment was practiced five times. In the first half of the unit, learning activities were practiced by acquiring a rhythmic approach and challenging the target record using a nomogram. In the second half of the unit, learning activities were practiced by selecting the approach technique （five- or seven-step approach） and the method of goal setting （nomogram or a quick reference table showing percentages for height）.
