However, the cause of the damage has not yet been clarified.\nTherefore, in this paper, we analyzed the cause of the collapse as to the reason why the debris flow occurred on the embankment slope. As a result, high embankment slopes filled with steeper slopes were very dangerous, but no drainage treatment or erosion control was installed. Construction of a residential area on the north side of the col-lapsed embankment slope changed the traditional basin boundary, revealing that a very large amount of rainwater in-filtrated the embankment and collapsed. The signs of this collapse may have begun in 2019.\nIn the future, a joint project between the Sabo Department of the Water and Disaster Management Bureau and the Urban Safety Division of the City Bureau will be launched within the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and a comprehensive survey will be conducted on high embankments with a height of 5 m or more to identify dangerous areas.
